Introduction
Hezbut Tawheed is a non-political religious reform movement. The name "Hezbut Tawheed" translates to "The Party of the Sovereignty of Allah." We believe that Almighty Allah is the ultimate source of truth and justice. Therefore, in addressing any problem in human life, decisions should be based solely on the commands and principles of the Creator.To establish global peace by eradicating all forms of injustice and oppression through the implementation of Allah's divine guidance in every aspect of human life.Hezbut Tawheed was founded on February 16, 1995, by Mohammad Bayazeed Khan Panni, a descendant of the esteemed Panni family of Karatia, Tangail, Bangladesh.
The Founder of Hezbut Tawheed
Emamuzzaman Mohammad Bayazid Khan Panni
The founder of Hezbut Tawheed, known as Emamuzzaman, was born in 1925 into the historic Panni zamindar family of Karatia. A man of profound integrity and versatile genius, he excelled as an athlete, hunter, anti-British activist, and parliamentarian. However, his life's ultimate purpose was to address the deep-seated crisis facing the Muslim world.
Observing the global subjugation and internal division of the Ummah, he dedicated 17 years to intensive research to uncover the root cause. The result was his seminal work, "This Islam is Not Islam at All," which argued that the prevalent form of Islam had been distorted over centuries. He founded Hezbut Tawheed in 1995 to re-establish the pristine, unifying, and just ideology of Islam as practiced by the Prophet (PBUH), enduring significant persecution for his uncompromising stance.
The Current Leader
Imam Hossain Mohammad Salim
Following the path illuminated by the Emamuzzaman, the leadership of Hezbut Tawheed was entrusted to Hossain Mohammad Salim in 2012. An accomplished scholar and a natural leader, he has taken the ideological foundation laid by his predecessor and transformed it into a dynamic, nationwide movement for tangible change.
As the current Imam, he tirelessly travels across Bangladesh, carrying the message of true Islam from prestigious auditoriums to humble village courtyards. Under his guidance, the movement has become a formidable force against extremism, sectarianism, and social injustice. He is not just a speaker but a builder—spearheading over fifty development projects, overseeing multiple media platforms, and authoring several influential books.
Despite facing violent attacks, personal threats, and the martyrdom of his followers, his resolve remains unbroken. He continues to be a steadfast and courageous leader, advancing the principles of true Islam through extensive social reform and practical development.

Principles of Hezbut Tawheed
At the inception of the Hezbut Tawheed movement, founder Emamuzzaman Mohammad Bayazeed Khan Panni established a set of guiding principles that continue to be upheld today:
Transparency
Hezbut Tawheed will operate with complete transparency; all activities will be conducted openly.
Law-Abiding
No member of the movement will violate the law or engage with illegal weapons.
Self-Funded
Funds for the movement will only be accepted from members of Hezbut Tawheed.
Non-Political
No member of Hezbut Tawheed will participate in conventional political activities.
Self-Reliant
All able members of the movement must secure lawful employment; none will remain unemployed.
Selfless Service
No member of the movement will accept any payment for religious activities.
Respect for All
Hezbut Tawheed will show respect to all religions and will not promote hatred against any religious founders, avatars, leaders, scriptures, or places of worship.
Five-Point Agenda
The Modus Operandi of Hezbut Tawheed
This agenda is not a fabricated strategy; rather, it is a divinely prescribed process given by Allah to His Messenger for establishing the true religion. The Messenger of Allah said, "Allah has commanded me with five tasks, and I am commanding you with those five tasks." [Ahmad, Tirmidhi]. These correspond directly to our five-point agenda.
Unity
Bringing all of humanity together under the single ideology of Tawheed, transcending all divisions.
Discipline
Maintaining strict order and ethical conduct within the movement, reflecting the principles of true Islam.
Obedience
Following the commands of Allah and His Messenger, and the guidance of the legitimate leadership (Imam).
Hijrah (Renounce)
Mentally and ideologically migrating away from all forms of falsehood, injustice, and man-made systems.
Jihad (Struggle)
Engaging in a relentless, non-violent struggle to establish truth and justice in society.
Hezbut Tawheed's Outreach Activities
A People-Centered Approach
Hezbut Tawheed is a people-centered organization, committed to raising public awareness through a wide range of activities. These include rallies, street meetings, seminars, roundtable discussions, and cultural events across the country. These events often feature prominent political leaders, academics, artists, and religious leaders from different faiths.
Speeches delivered by the Imam are disseminated through social media and our website. We conduct these programs in various venues, from prestigious auditoriums to rural village courtyards, to reach every segment of society.
Massive Distribution & Awareness
Our members distribute the movement's books, handbills, newspapers, and magazines in crowded urban and rural areas, on public transport, and at book fairs. Representative teams also meet with government officials to inform them about our objectives and activities.
Hezbut Tawheed's Source of Income
A Principle of Self-Reliance and Sacrifice
At Hezbut Tawheed, we believe that true faith is demonstrated through the sacrifice of both life and wealth for the greater good of humanity. A core principle of our movement is that every active member must be employed in lawful work, refrain from any form of illegal income, and contribute a portion of their earnings to support the movement's activities.
The various meetings, seminars, and initiatives we undertake are funded by the sincere contributions of our members, many of whom have limited means but are devoted to the cause of Allah. In adherence to our principles, we do not accept financial contributions from anyone outside the movement.
Propaganda Against Hezbut Tawheed
Because Hezbut Tawheed presents the true teachings of Islam against all forms of injustice, including the misuse of religion, it has faced continuous propaganda from two opposing fronts since its inception.
From Extremist & Vested Interest Groups
An extremist and vested interest group has been continuously propagating against us using religious venues like mosques and madrasas. On social media, they issue death threats, incite attacks, and engage in information terrorism by misinterpreting fragmented statements and spreading edited photos and videos.
From Islamophobic Groups
On the other hand, Islamophobic groups have also carried out propaganda using Islamophobia against Hezbut Tawheed in various media. They have misled the public and the administration by falsely linking the movement with various militant banned organizations, effectively silencing its voice through a collective propaganda campaign.
Nevertheless, we have protested against these false campaigns by holding hundreds of press conferences, rallies, and human chains, and we have consistently demanded justice from the relevant government authorities.
History of Persecution
For the past three decades, for presenting the true, peaceful teachings of Islam, Hezbut Tawheed has faced a relentless and brutal history of persecution. This is not a history of isolated incidents, but a continuous, ongoing struggle against extremist forces. Whenever our members have sought to share the message of unity, these groups have stirred unrest by inciting local people with false propaganda.
These frenzied terrorists, often instigated by so-called religious scholars, have formed violent mobs that attacked our members, inflicted severe injuries, burned down their homes, and looted their properties. Even female members have been assaulted. The violence has often been fatal, with key examples including the burning of the founder's ancestral home (2001), the martyrdom of members (2003), the horrific 2016 attack on the current Imam's home where two members were slaughtered, and the hacking death of another member in Pabna (2022). Over a thousand such attacks have been carried out against us.
However, instead of resorting to violence, we have always sought help from law enforcement authorities. To this day, we have not received justice for even a single one of these attacks or murders.
Development Activities of Hezbut Tawheed
We are dedicated to building a peaceful and progressive global civilization. To create a tangible example of this vision, our Honorable Imam has transformed his own village into a model of self-reliance. This once underdeveloped area is now a thriving, modern community with over fifty development projects.
1. The Mosque as a Social Center
A four-story mosque stands as a center for true Islamic teachings and culture. Destroyed by extremists in 2016, it is now rebuilt and robust, welcoming thousands of worshippers, including women, and hosting various social and community events.
2. Balanced Educational System
Chasihat Nurul Haque High School was established to provide a balanced educational model. It integrates modern science and technology with essential moral and religious instruction, aiming to cultivate a generation of skilled and ethical citizens.
3. Agricultural Projects
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, comprehensive agriculture-based projects were initiated to ensure food security. Today, these projects cultivate a range of crops like rice, corn, and vegetables, creating hundreds of rural employment opportunities.
4. Cattle Fattening Project
To meet the growing demand for healthy protein, three modern cattle farms organically raise over 500 cows annually. Supported by its own grass cultivation and feed mill, the project ensures the meat is steroid-free and nutritious.
5. Fish Farming Project
A massive 20-acre fish farm, with its own government-recognized hatchery, transforms unused ponds into productive assets. The farm produces thousands of tons of fish, significantly boosting the local economy and nutrition.
6. Garment Industry Factory
"KR Fashions," a modern garment factory, employs over 250 men and women. It produces a range of clothing for all ages, combating local unemployment and providing quality apparel for the community.
7. Food Processing Industry
"Karrani Foods Private Limited" produces and markets a wide variety of essential consumer goods, including pure mustard oil, snacks, spices, soaps, and detergents, ensuring unadulterated products for the nation.
8. Hospital & Healthcare
To provide advanced healthcare in a remote area, a modern homeopathic clinic has been established, which successfully treated COVID-19 patients. A large, modern hospital is also currently under construction.
9. Housing Project
The "Member Colony" provides modern and secure housing facilities for the hundreds of employees and their families who work in the various development projects, fostering a strong community spirit.
10. Small Business Incubation
To empower unemployed youths and foster a spirit of entrepreneurship, over fifty small businesses have been established. This initiative encourages them to become job creators rather than job seekers.
11. Annual Trade Fair
A week-long trade fair is held annually to showcase and sell products from all local projects. This event attracts thousands of visitors, boosts the regional economy, and celebrates the success of the community's self-reliance.
A Journey of Truth and Resilience
The Inception
On February 16, Emamuzzaman Mohammad Bayazeed Khan Panni founded Hezbut Tawheed to revive the true, undistorted ideology of Islam, presenting it as the ultimate solution for humanity's crises.
Early Persecution
As the movement's message began to spread, it faced its first wave of violent opposition. The founder's ancestral home was set on fire, and two members, including an elderly woman, were brutally martyred by extremist mobs.
Ideological Stand
The movement formally proposed an ideological counter-narrative as the only true solution to religious extremism, arguing that force alone could never eradicate a flawed ideology.
A New Chapter
Following the passing of the founder, the leadership was entrusted to Hossain Mohammad Salim. As the new Imam, he began a nationwide effort to expand the movement's reach and translate its ideology into tangible action.
The Noakhali Massacre
In a horrific, premeditated attack, extremists burned down the Imam's home, destroyed an under-construction mosque, and brutally slaughtered two members in broad daylight, marking the movement's darkest day.
Turning Vision into Reality
The 'Smart Village Project' was formally launched, along with the establishment of Chasihat Nurul Haque High School. This marked a significant step in creating a replicable model of development, education, and self-reliance.
Unwavering Resilience
Despite another martyrdom in Pabna (2022) and continuous propaganda, the movement continues to grow stronger. It expands its outreach, development projects, and cultural activities nationwide, proving its resilience in the face of adversity.
