A grand workers’ conference titled ‘Forming Public Opinion is Essential for Establishing Deen’ was organized by Hezbut Tawheed in the capital Dhaka. The event took place on Saturday, 17 January 2026, at the MuktiJoddha Smriti Milayoton hall of the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) building. Organized by Dhaka Metropolitan Hezbut Tawheed, the conference saw participation from several thousand workers and supporters from various parts of the capital. The hall overflowed with attendees, with many gathering in the surrounding areas as well.
As the chief guest, the Honorable Imam of Hezbut Tawheed, Hossain Mohammad Selim, expressed deep concern and strong indignation over the ongoing multi-faceted conspiracies, propaganda, and obstacles faced by the organization’s workers. He stated:
“A fanatic group is continuously holding rallies against us, spreading lies, misleading the general public, and inciting attacks on us. The administration has requested us to limit our gatherings considering the current situation, citing efforts by various quarters to create instability before the election. We accept your request. However, in that case, the government must also take responsibility to stop the rallies, incitements, and attempts to create mobs against us. But we have seen no such initiative from the government side. This is clear discrimination. Two different policies cannot run in one country.”
The Honorable Imam further reminded the workers of the organization’s principles and ideals, saying:
“Hezbut Tawheed is a law-abiding organization with no record of breaking the law. We work for peace, harmony, and secular values. We speak out against extremism and all forms of terrorism. Yet, we are repeatedly attacked here and there. The state is responsible for protecting the human rights of every citizen.”
In her special address as chief advisor, Khadija Khatun provided guiding advice to workers at all levels. She urged everyone to remain steadfast in the organization’s core principles and ideals, stating:
“Obstacles and conspiracies will inevitably come when walking the path of truth. We must remain patient and firm in our ideals. Without being misled by false propaganda, we should spread the true teachings of Islam peacefully and orderly among the people. Only through this can true welfare for humanity be achieved. We advise all workers to continue selfless service for the welfare of the country and nation, overcoming all barriers.”
The conference was presided over by Dr. Mahbub Alam Mahfuz, Joint General Secretary and Dhaka Divisional Head of the organization. Special guests included General Secretary Md. Nizam Uddin, Joint General Secretary and Women’s Wing Head Rufaida Ponni, Joint General Secretary S M Shamsul Huda, Organizational Secretary Enamul Haque Bappa, Literature Secretary Riyadul Hasan, and Executive Member & Joint Women’s Secretary Ayesha Siddiqua, among others, who spoke on the organization’s activities and future plans.
Speakers emphasized that for nearly three decades, Hezbut Tawheed has been tirelessly working to preserve communal harmony, propagate the true essence of religion, and combat drugs, terrorism, and extremism. However, a self-interested group, exploiting religion, is misleading the common people and obstructing Hezbut Tawheed’s peaceful programs. They strongly demanded that the government take strict legal action against those inciting violence and carrying out attacks.
The conference, which began at 10:00 AM, was marked by immense enthusiasm among the attending workers. Members from various districts across the country were present. The event concluded with a call for all to unite in selfless service for the welfare of the nation and to remain steadfast on the path of truth with patience and discipline under any circumstances.
