In a spirited display of endurance and patriotism, Borhan Uddin and Tanjila Akter emerged as the top performers at the ‘HM Salim Run 10K Marathon 2025’. Organized by the Pinnacle Sports Association to mark International Mother Language Day, the event transformed the Diabari area of Uttara into a festive sporting hub on Friday morning, February 21.
Under the slogan “Run for Unity,” approximately 1,200 runners from across the country participated, striving to awaken the dormant strength of youth and spread a message of national solidarity.

Champions of the Track
The marathon witnessed intense competition across three categories—Men, Women, and Veterans.

Men’s Category:

Champion: Borhan Uddin stormed to victory, completing the 10km course in just 37 minutes.

Runner-up: Sabbir Ahmed finished a close second, crossing the line at 37 minutes 30 seconds.

3rd Place: Gias Uddin secured the third spot with a timing of 38 minutes.

Women’s Category:

Champion: Tanjila Akter showcased incredible stamina, winning the title with a time of 55 minutes.

Runner-up: Sumaiya Akter finished in 1 hour and 5 minutes.

3rd Place: Sabiha Akter Ridni completed the race in 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 30 seconds.

Veterans’ Category (50+):

Champion: Defying age, Abdus Salam touched the finish line in an impressive 41 minutes.

Runner-up: Abul Hossain finished in 56 minutes.

3rd Place: Nur Hossain completed the race in 59 minutes.

Prizes and Honors
Following the race, cash prizes were awarded to the winners: BDT 5,000 for Champions, BDT 3,000 for Runners-up, and BDT 2,000 for Third-place finishers in all categories. Additionally, every participant who completed the race received a commemorative medal.
“Strength is Faith”: Chief Guest’s Message
The prize distribution ceremony was headlined by Pinnacle Sports Association Chairman Hossain Mohammad Salim. In his keynote address, he linked physical fitness with moral and spiritual well-being.

“To awaken the power of youth, we must ignite their indomitable spirit. We are working tirelessly to rouse that inherent strength within everyone,” Mr. Salim stated.
Referencing religious values, he added, “Islam encourages physical exercise because it benefits the body. The faith discourages laziness and idleness. As mentioned in the Hadith, Allah loves a believer who is active, lively, and strong.”
He further emphasized that sports are the ultimate alternative to guide frustrated and misguided youth back to the right path, pledging that Pinnacle Sports Association would continue to host such events nationwide.
