The Renaissance of the Prophet's True Islam

Hezbut Tawheed

Introduction

Hezbut Tawheed is a non-political religious reform movement. The name "Hezbut Tawheed" translates to "The Party of the Sovereignty of Allah." We believe that Almighty Allah is the ultimate source of truth and justice. Therefore, in addressing any problem in human life, decisions should be based solely on the commands and principles of the Creator. To establish global peace by eradicating all forms of injustice and oppression through the implementation of Allah's divine guidance in every aspect of human life. Hezbut Tawheed was founded on February 16, 1995, by Mohammad Bayazeed Khan Panni, a descendant of the esteemed Panni family of Karatia, Tangail, Bangladesh.

Sovereignty of Allah & Unity of Humankind

The foundation of Islam is Tawheed—accepting only Allah as the sovereign authority. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) united a divided nation with this single message. We believe that without adopting the life system created by Allah, peace will not come to the world. Therefore, we call upon all of humanity to acknowledge the Creator as the sole lawgiver.

From this principle, we hold a simple truth: all of humanity is one family, sharing a common lineage from Adam and Eve. We emphasize the urgent need to dismantle communal barriers and nurture global brotherhood based on this shared identity.

The current version of Islamic militancy violates the essential teachings of Islam. Because this is an ideology, it cannot be dealt with by force alone; a powerful counter-ideology is required to refute their assertions. We are dedicated to providing this intellectual response.

Simultaneously, we stand against the commercialization of faith. Transforming Islam into a commodity for financial or political gain is unequivocally forbidden (haram). When personal interests intertwine with faith, its purity is distorted, and its noble purpose of serving humanity is lost.

We believe that true Islam does not hinder women’s progress but grants them the right to participate in all aspects of life, as they did during the time of the Prophet (PBUH). Similarly, Islam embraces diverse cultures and encourages sports that promote physical and mental fitness. By distorting these truths, extremist interpretations have stripped Islam of its vibrancy and failed to attract the youth. We foster a humanitarian-driven cultural and sports movement to protect the youth and combat all forms of injustice.

Our Five-Point Modus Operandi

The Divine Five-Point Program

1. Unity

Unity is the foundation of strength. Without unity no nation can succeed. The Qur’an commands believers to hold together and avoid division.

2. Discipline

Believers must stay alert to their leader’s commands and maintain discipline. Vigilance and unity in action ensure strength and order.

3. Obedience

Obedience means following commands without hesitation. The Qur’an orders believers to obey Allah, His Messenger, and rightful authority.

4. Hijrah (renounce)

Hijrah means leaving false systems and separating spiritually from disbelief, forming a community based on true Tawheed.

5. Jihad (the struggle to establish justice)

Jihad is striving to establish truth and justice through knowledge, invitation, perseverance, and dedication to Allah’s cause.

Our Organisations

Propaganda Against Hezbut Tawheed

Because Hezbut Tawheed presents the true teachings of Islam against all forms of injustice, including the misuse of religion, it has faced continuous propaganda from two opposing fronts since its inception.

An extremist and vested interest group has been continuously propagating against us using religious venues like mosques and madrasas. On social media, they issue death threats, incite attacks, and engage in information terrorism by misinterpreting fragmented statements and spreading edited photos and videos.

On the other hand, Islamophobic groups have also carried out propaganda using Islamophobia against Hezbut Tawheed in various media. They have misled the public and the administration by falsely linking the movement with various militant banned organizations, effectively silencing its voice through a collective propaganda campaign.

History of Persecution

For the past three decades, for presenting the true, peaceful teachings of Islam, Hezbut Tawheed has faced a relentless and brutal history of persecution. This is not a history of isolated incidents, but a continuous, ongoing struggle against extremist forces. Whenever our members have sought to share the message of unity, these groups have stirred unrest by inciting local people with false propaganda.

These frenzied terrorists, often instigated by so-called religious scholars, have formed violent mobs that attacked our members, inflicted severe injuries, burned down their homes, and looted their properties. Even female members have been assaulted. The violence has often been fatal, with key examples including the burning of the founder’s ancestral home (2001), the martyrdom of members (2003), the horrific 2016 attack on the current Imam’s home where two members were slaughtered, and the hacking death of another member in Pabna (2022). Over a thousand such attacks have been carried out against us.
