No Alternative to Establishing Deen to Overcome the National Crisis
Emam Selim at Hizbut Towheed Workers’ Conference in Meherpur
The Eid reunion and workers’ conference of Hizbut Towheed was held in Meherpur. The event was organized by the Meherpur district unit of Hizbut Towheed on Wednesday morning (April 29, 2026) in Gangni, Meherpur.
The chief guest at the event was Imam Hossain Mohammad Selim, the top leader of Hizbut Towheed. Highlighting the current global situation, he stated, “Across the world, the strong are oppressing the weak, the wealthy are depriving the poor, and rulers are oppressing the governed. The world has turned into a living hell.”
Referring to imperialist aggression and the persecution of Muslims, he said, “International organizations, including the United Nations and human rights institutions, have utterly failed to establish peace, security, humanity, and justice.”
Addressing the situation in Bangladesh, he stated that all forms of crime are rapidly increasing. “In the past two and a half months, there have been 464 murders and 666 rape cases. Nearly 4.7 million cases are pending in the courts. People are not receiving justice,” he said.
“There are uprisings, elections, and successive changes in government, yet people are not experiencing the desired peace and security. Hype and rumors have spread like a pandemic. Misinformation on social media is fueling gang violence, and propaganda is being used to orchestrate attacks, leading to daylight killings,” he added.
He further identified the failure of the man-made governance system inherited from the British era. “The constitution has been amended multiple times since independence, yet people have not achieved true freedom. Every five years, only the caretakers of a poisonous tree are being changed. The time has come to uproot this poisonous tree. The political, judicial, and economic structures left by the British are man-made and have completely failed. It is now time to establish the divinely guided system prescribed by Allah. There is no alternative to implementing Allah’s system to overcome the nation’s crisis,” said Imam Selim.
The event was chaired by Zahid Mahmud, General Secretary of the Meherpur district unit. Special guests included Central General Secretary Md. Nizam Uddin, Joint General Secretary Rufaida Ponni, Khulna Divisional President Tanvir Ahmed, and Regional President Joseb Uddin, among others.
The program was conducted by Shamsuzzaman Milon. With the participation of over five thousand leaders and activists from various upazilas of Meherpur district, the event turned into a massive gathering.
Sincerely,
Zahid Mahmud
