Emam Hossain Mohammad Selim, the top leader of the non-political movement Hizbut Tawhid, has stated that only Islam can truly ensure human rights, freedom of speech, and justice.
He made this remark on Saturday (April 25) morning at a roundtable discussion with media professionals held at Fars Hotel & Resorts in Purana Paltan, Dhaka.
Referring to the ongoing global situation, the Emam of Hizbut Tawhid said that a brutal wave of human rights violations and suppression of freedom of speech is taking place across the world. War is being imposed one after another on Muslim countries. International organizations, including the United Nations, have failed to address these injustices. They have not been able to protect even the basic rights of Muslims in Palestine and Myanmar.
Mentioning the context of Bangladesh, the Emam of Hizbut Tawhid said that in the past two years, hundreds of mob incidents have occurred in the country. An extremist and communal group is creating chaos everywhere.
